I have a Rockshox Mag 10 and it is leaking air. I cannot figure out why. Does anybody here know about Mag 10's?

according to the troubleshooting manual I found online my fork is shot.

So are you like bikeless right now because of this? If so what is your stack height?

I am not exactly clear on WHAT stack height is, and what my stack height IS. I think it is about 1 inch. I took apart one of the legs and it seems that the problem may be some bad valves. As I have nothing to loose at the moment I am going to try replacing those. Also, the adjuster rod (I dunno if that is the correct term) is bent in 2 places. I don't think it really effects the performance but I wonder if it is better when it is straight. I am totally without a bike.

I think I am going to get something cheap(like a Jett from Pricepoint) until I can afford something better. But I have to get my bike set up so I can ride.

Obviously, money is an issue, but for $5 more than the Jett, you can get the Manitou Magnum from Jenson, which I believe is a much better fork than the Jett. The other two forks I listed from Jenson are a few dollars more, but that money goes a long way in it gets you damping.

I have an old 1" steertube, threaded, chromed tange road fork you could use....but it uses calipers. Can't take anything wider than, say, 35mm?

I have a 1 1/8''. Thanks for offering, it is really great of you. I'll pull through this. At least I wasn't riding the bike when something went wrong.

Measure your forks steer tube length from bottom of race to top and add the height of the headset.

BTW, there ARE spacers which can save you from needing to cut small amounts off the steerer. Any bike shop has them. If your steerer is threaded, it is probably a good idea to let them cut a steerer, rather than doing it at home with a hacksaw.
