I frequently go over to theshadowlands.net site and look up their listings of haunted places.
I'll look up the California listings and I'll find plenty of interesting places in and around the general area.
I don't know of anyone elses opinion on the whole subject, but just finding a cool, weird place to ride through would be well worth the trip.
So far, I've got nothing.

I rode up the old Route 66 adjacent to the Cajon Pass the same day a body was dumped there, I did feel really spooked that day and actually had the feeling there was a dead body nearby.

(Disclaimer: anyone who rides up this route probably has the same feeling, the place is not a very good place to be)
