Has anyone ever used
<a href="http://www.thestick.com/">The Stick?</A>. I'm thinking I could use one but $20-30 seems lke a lot to pay for a, well, stick.

You have to be kidding. It is a stick, made of "space age plastic" that you rub over your muscles. If this worked, why couldn't you just cut down a broomstick?

Broomsticks aren't made of space age plastic, silly!

Well, since you offered to help.....
I'm used to posting links using the "a href" HTML code. I tried to figure out how to activate or enable posting by HTML on this site but couldn't figure out how to do it.
So how exactly do you posts embedded links here? I'm soo ashamed ::sobbing uncontrollably, which the Link tends to do often because he's very emotional, fragile, and yes, perhaps in some strange way, vulnerable::.
Enough of you naysayers. The opinions I'm looking for are from people who have actually tried it out. Not that I don't treasure the opinions of the rest of you.

When you're in the post editing page, roll your mouse over the button below the smiley face at the top of the edit control. It should look like a globe with a link from a chain. If you rolled over the right button it will pop up the words "Insert Link". Before you click it, highlight the text you want underlined as the link. Click the button, and a dialog box will pop up to enter the URL. Enter the URL and click ok. It will insert the link for you.

I personally have not used one but think a good yoga class would be as helpful and a lot more fun.
If I really wanted one I would scan the yard sales.

Maybe I'll order one here. http://cgi.ebay.com/The-Stick-Massage-Tool-Myofascial-Release_W0QQitemZ250131999529QQihZ015QQcategoryZ28065QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
So, is that OCP or Fred? I just can't tell.
I suppose it depends on whether it's a broomstick or it costs $30.

I don't think it's either. The reason I asked was that after my hammerfest yesterday I was whining about how I thought I was developing the IleoTibial Syndrome on the right. I've had it on my left from running and am not anxious to get it again. Anyway, a hammerhead told me he swore by it, but no one else gave an opinion one way or the other. I thought it was just an overpriced broomstick but apparently their construction is a bit more sophisticated.
Just hoping someone had an informed opinion about it. Maybe I'll check with the Turks.

People have posted in this forum about "The Stick" before. And not that long ago. I remember there were several positive comments.

And if the Turks don't know, you could always check with the Young Bucks.

Here is the previous thread, which which is kinda in keeping with the current one: folks who never tried it running it down, and folks who have tried it liking it: http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=286656&highlight=the+stick
It's cool with me. Just sayin'.

A yoga teacher told me that a rolling pin works just as as well as the stick, if not better.
Then you can make a pie afterwards!:D

Blueberry?????
I haven't tried The Stick, but I have a ball with knobs sticking out of it for massaging my feet. If The Stick works as well as this ball, then it's worth the money.

I'll break that trend. I haven't tried one, but after a big ride last year I saw someone in the parking lot using one and they sure seemed to be getting some benefit from it. I went home planning to order one from Performance, but never got a round tuit.

Okay, if you insist on "space age plastic", go to Home Depot and buy a piece of 1" PVC pipe and a 1/2" dowel that is about 6' longer. Stick the dowel in the pipe and presto, Le Stick for $5. You could cut the pipe into smaller pieces so you can have spindles like The Stick.

Did you catch that they now have 12 different Stick products!?
Must be a goldmine.
I think TWL needs the "Stiff Stick." 24" long, $45.

I worked with a guy who really liked it but he liked all kinds
of doodads so I'm not sure of the value of his opinion. The
reason I bring this up is to warn you just in case: TSA
confiscated it!! If you do get one.....
