General Cycling Discussion - could sure use some encouragement

My main steed has been in a pile of bits since last year. I promised myself that after 6 years it was going to get a much needed paint job.
Trouble is I can't decide on the scheme and the more I think about it the more I put it off!

I want something quite different I think (it is currently flo pink and white) I really liked some of the colnago shemes I've seen and some of the Look too but I need some ideas guys n gals preferably something light and bright

Can you get me back on my bike before the summer is over :)

You can't go wrong with cow print or snakeskin.

I seen one website which allowed you to decorate the bike in the colour and paint scheme your heart desired but I cannot remember where it is. So here is Cycles Marinoni colour page.
I was planning to have them make me a touring bike with the Sahara colour but it never happened. :(

theres some nice colours there Gordon for sure but I'm really looking for a ready made colour design or a design in colour should I sayI'm going to have a look at some of the Italian road frameset makers

I thought bikes looked pretty good in any colour until I saw that. ;-)

I reckon any bold, plain colour makes a bike look fast (black, yellow, red, bright blue). If it's a bit more retro you're looking for I think more muted colours suit best ("earthy" tones - not brown: dark green, deep red, old gold).

I kinda stuck with it because it was nice to think that people in the surrounding villages have seen me and recognised me every year " hey Look dear, there goes that strange bloke on a pink bike again!"

The good thing is that if anyone steals your bike, they won't be able to ride it! I think it's great you have a different bike- no one can ever lift it off you!

I got the perfect motivation for you- no more posting on bikeforums until you get the bike built AND provide the pictures AND details of how you built the bike as proof the bike is finished.....

My wife of 30 years thinks I'm "pretty in pink" with my Team Telecomm color Bianchi jersey! Seriously, a proper repaint job is going to run into $$$, so be certain you really want a change.

It doesn't matter. Seriously, you've obviously had it with pink, so anything is going to be an improvement. Set a budget, and repaint it within that budget.
There are some nice car paints that never get used on bikes, I'd be tempted
to try one of those. Saw a new one th other day, the paint refracts the light like a little rainbow. I think that would look pretty cool on a bike.

If it's the same paint that I'm thinking of, it's called "mystique". Some Mustang Cobra's came with it, it looks a different color depending on light and what angle you look at it. I thought of painting an old frame with it to see what it would look like.

I've been thinking that orange would be a good frame color. Or light blue...like baby blue or powder blue. I dunno....might be something different than all the red, blue, black and white bikes that everyone seems to have.

My bike is "Charger Orange". I believe they called it this because it is the same color as the "General Lee" from the Dukes of Hazard. Hmmmm...I think my bike may have just gotten a name after 3 years of owning it.:D

Hey, that pink is a fine color. Put that bike back togeter and get it out on the road! :)

Send it out and have it Chrome plated. Then it will be any color you happen to be next to. Kind of like a chameleon.
