Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Yep, mom made me dinner and a great breakfast this morning.:D Then we went for a walk before we left this morning.
must be nice... I got my breakfast from the guy at the Chevron... who remembered me from yesterday and commented that he was glad that he didn't have to pick me up off the road :p

I'll probably be feeling that way after next weekend, after the GT. Everyone will be waiting impatiently for me to finish.

That was a fast section, but I was hurting pretty bad by then. I worked with another guy that last 16 miles and we were really flyin. Still seemed like it took forever.

if you knew this route, you would.... its pretty much the same route we did over memorial day.... two long grades make up the majority of it and I did one of them last weekend (the other was tougher though). I figure I'll pace really slow and try to make up some of it on the downhills

seriously, if I can make it, so could you....I think it has to do with the fact that both climbs go up to a summit and immediately on the other side of each climb is a great downhill so you don't even really have to go any distance on flat road (at least at the memorial day ride).... maybe just knowing that makes them survivable?

thanks :D I am enjoying it! The new handlebars are en route and hopefully the seatpost will get here soon so eventually it'll be done ;) Oh yeah, and VMC is making me get a new saddle so that'll get replaced sometime too ;)
Congrats Tracy! By the way, don't try to make up time on downhills. All the effort gets eaten up by wind resistance. On long tough climbing rides, if the goal is to finish, slow down and rest on downhills and flats, and pace at an endurance pace on the climbs. You'll do great.
Good job baby girl
I knew you could do it

thanks Jason :D No worries... I can't make up that much on the downhills anyway ;)
