"The 33"-Road Bike Racing - Cyclingnews gives no respect to stage winner of Tour de Beauce

If you look at stage 6 for Tour de Beauce, cyclingnews only puts a picture of Ben Day and doesn't even mention the stage winner. Apparently, Soren Peterson (the stage winner) told his breakaway companion that he didn't want to work until coming around to sprint for the win.

My questions is: Is this really dirty racing?

I would think that this is fair game. If the guy(s) in the breakaway are happy to work then I'm more than happy to sit on.

Didn't Aussie Ben Day win the overall, hence the photo of him looking ecstatic?? :/

Yeah basically Sorenson was with Meier in the break, and did no work the whole way to the line, sat on his wheel, and then outsprinted him. I guess he's happy with his win, but from my perspective, he looks like a chump. Not a good way to create a good rep in the peleton.

Was there a reason he was sitting on? Doesn't seem to be one. Looks like the Danish guys will get away with this one, but if they ever had to come race over here again, I doubt they'd get much respect from the teams affected.

Personally, I still do everything to screw a Guyana rider that sat on me for 60 miles one stage and refused to let me have the win. There was no reason, no real tactic and now everytime I see him, I make sure he gets a bit of payback in whatever way I can.

Same thing happened between Hincapie and Pereiro in the 2005 Tour de France. Remember when Hincapie sat on Pereiro before sprinting for the win? How come nobody looked down on Hincapie?

Interesting how Pereiro became a victim for working hard in that stage, but last year when he stumbled into 30 minutes and GC lead he acted like he worked for it and was a legit 2nd overall guy. That's racing.
