I sure enjoy grocery shopping (and other shopping) with my trailer. I'm curious what others think, but it sure seems like it's a great method of cycling advocacy.

We do the same thing! No pics, but we have 2 kid trailers and no kids!:p We use them for touring as well. A used Kid trailer is a lot cheaper than a new cargo trailer!

There is a Harris-Teeter near my house where the parking lot is always full. Shopping carts are not allowed in the lot, so loading is a chore. It's a perfect application for our outgrown trailer.

I usually have both a kid and groceries in the trailer when I shop with it. There is a lot of room behind the seat of ours. We like to go to the Farmers' Market.

Before the trailer, I had to have a watermelon cut in half so I could fit each half in a separate pannier....

I just bought a trailer. I like trailers.
Bike trailers, movie trailers, Appalachian trailers.. all good in my book.

But what does this have to do with A&S? :D

Well, to make it safety related.......

How many who use a kid trailer for cargo find that motorists give them more room when they pass?:p

I bought a trailer for my nephew when he was very small. I noticed that cars would swerve six feet to the left when passing the trailer (as opposed to the "traditional" Houston six inches). The amazing courtesy shown by drivers when I was towing the trailer tempted me to always use the trailer when I needed to ride a route with high speed, high volume motor traffic.

I've also used it as a way to carry a kid's bike to the bike shop. A trailer can be useful for lots of stuff.

See? That wasn't hard :p
And it's pertinent to my situation because I purchased the Nomad, not a child trailer.

I haven't had it long enough to give an objective opinion on this...

I do grocery runs in my mess bag, no trailer yet. It's quite fun.

Though I swear to God if I got hit and someone broke my eggs there would be some violence going down.

Our's was free through our local Freecycle (http://www.freecycle.org/) chapter. It had been sitting open outside for a couple years so naturally the fabric was thrashed. No matter. Some plywood, bolts, a $10 Rubbermaid bin, some Mcgyver'ing of the hitch's universal joint (delivered broken, but fixed with a gate spring and a short length of chain), and a tractor triangle later and we have a functioning trailer. It still needs paint and lights, but we tried it out last weekend and it does the job. We still have things to tweak as far as the finished project, but so far so good. I'll post a more detailed account in "Living Car Free"
