Heya'll.. I got my Ultegra build kit yesterday, and proceeded to put most of it together last night... when I got to the front brake, the bolt that goes thru the carbon fork appears to be too short, or the sleeve nut too short... either way, it won;t grab the threads enough to tighten up... I'm going back to Supergo today after work to deal with missing parts issues, and will probably ask them when I am there, but if anyone has had this problem... can it be fixed easily and cheaply ??

Other than that... my bike is looking sooooo sweet... I can;t wait to finish it !

I have not had that problem, yet you are using the brake with the longer bolt in front correct? I know this is probably over simplifying it. THere is longer bolts sleeves (part that goes in back) that you can purchase for a few dollars if necessary. When you go to supergo you might want to take the brake and fork. I'm assuming you are going to the supergo in Fountain valley, they normaly are really helpful there, anytime I've had problems etc, as for the brake might just want to go talk directly to the mechanics there. And no tax on anything till the 6th, i'm going there this morning to pickup a few things :)

heya Kev... actually I'm going to the store in Laguna Hills... I work in Capistrano... so it is on my way home... yeah I am using the right brake... I tried first to install it on the back, not realizing there were 2 different sizes, and it was way too loose... so then I realized it was for the front... but not quite long enough... i'll probably jsut haev to buya longer sleeve... the people at the LH store are super friendly, and most know what they are talking about... yeah no tax is good !! I'm probably gonna pick up a new computer while I am there :-)

Thanks

Jeff

There are several different lengths of sleeve bolts that you can buy. I dont know which fork you are using but many carbon forks use around a 22 mm bolt on the fork.

Jeff,

This is a very serious problem you're dealing with. Best bet is box up everything and send it to me. I'll take a look at it for you :)

Seriously though, good luck building up the bike. I almost have everything I need to build my Nevada City up.

heheh nice one Zack.. problem resolved... I went down to the Supergo store... told them of my dilemma.. they threw me a new sleeve bolt, and when I told them I was missing a front skewer from the kit, they gave me a whole new Xaero skewer set, since they were out of new Ultegra skewers... good customer service....

as far as the bike is concerned.. I ditched work a little early last Thursday, went home,a nd finished building it up... that bike is soooo freakin smooth... I'll post pics later this week... unless ym scale is lying to me.. it weighs in at about 17 lbs... which is about 11 lbs lighter than the bike iw as formerly riding... :-)
