Aviano Italy

My wife and I are stationed in Aviano in northern Italy and I started commuting to work by bike a few months ago and have since become quite addicted to cycling. None of my friends ride and I am looking for people to ride with. I currently ride a hardtail MTB with slicks (i am very poor and have to make do) so i am not fast by any means, but over 30 miles i can average 16-18 MPH. Even if you ride faster than me ill try to keep up as long as i can and then when i get tired ill just drop back. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

I can't help you as a riding partner, but I loved the Aviano area!! I have been TDY there on many occasions but was never able to ride there...it sure looked to be a great place to do so!!!!! The only true "kit" jersey I have, I purchased in one of the LBSs in that area. You are one lucky rider to be there!

It is quite nice:) The mountains are definitely a good place to train (plus the views from up there are incredible).

i am currently in treviso, italy and may be moving back here for work (im actually here for an interview this week). if i move back, we should met up. iim hoping to do a lot of touring.

Where do you live, I'm in Sacile near the center, I'll be starting to commute soon. I have a couple co-workers that may also.
