To any and all interested:
My name is Adam Kaplan and I’m working for Hazon. We are a Jewish non-profit environmental organization based in Manhattan whose major source of fundraising is huge BIKE RIDES to raise consciousness about the environment in the Jewish community. Our next big ride, the New York Jewish Environmental Bike Ride, requires our donor/bike riders to raise a minimum of $1200. The reward? A 2-day Shabbat retreat and a 2-day, 120 mile ride from the Isabella Freedman retreat in Connecticut through upstate New York, spanning all of Labor Day Weekend (August 31- September 3, 2007). It is a chance for Jews of all ages to meet, greet and cycle; it is an opportunity for you to share ideas and concerns about the environment and its place in Jewish life; most importantly, it epitomizes Hazon’s vision of creating a healthy and sustainable Jewish community as a step towards a more healthy and sustainable world for us all.
The ride is open and encouraged to everyone.
Sound interesting to you? Give me a call and I would love to speak to you about it. You can reach me at our office, (201) 644-2332, or anytime by email at adam@hazon.org.
Sincerely,
Adam Kaplan
