Recreational & Family - Teaching Kids to Ride: Popular BF method.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
It is incredibly satisfying, isn't it? Two weekends ago we lugged the bikes up to Burlington VT, and she rode solo on the Lake Champlain bike path. She is barely over 4' 1", riding on a bike with 12" tires, and staying in line with six of us. People kept coming up & commenting on her achievement.
EDIT: Oops... drunk and disorderly yet again. I meant to type 41" tall, not 4' 1". That would be pretty tall for a tiny bike!

It is great. Tough to explain to folks who haven't been there. And I am amazed that these kids are riding bikes that are like half their body weight too. Plugging right along.
Now to start scheming for how best to get the 2.5 yr old out on her own.
