Introductions - Hi from Winter and Vintage Rider in Minnesota

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I found these forums looking for info on an old 70's Peugeot my wife found and would like to ride in a short triathlon. Not that it's a great bike for that purpose, but it's probably better than her MTB. I have an 80's Peugeot which I'll be riding. It's only slightly better suited.

Aside from that I commute year round and I'd like to get some tips for better winter riding. I've used studded tires on my mountain bike but I'm wondering if I wouldn't be better off with something thinner to cut through the slop on the roads after a new snow instead of sliding around on top if it.

Anyway the folks around here seem really helpful and hopefully I can contribute too !
