Where do you ride your bike with the kid trailer hooked up?
I like to ride but dont want to ride on the main road and the only bike path anywhere near me is only 2 MI both ways.

I live in the the Northern outskirts of the city. When I towed the kids I usually drove the bikes and trailer(s) to a bike path. Or I rode on sidewalks on busy roads (nobody walks around here), and rode thru housing tracts whenever possible. Just remember, the sidewalk belongs to pedestrians and they should always be given the right of way. Most municipalities outlaw bikes on sidewalks...but I doubt if it's enforced much. We are very fortunate to have had a long trail along the Erie Canal for quite some time. It wasn't unusual for my daughter and I to tow the twins in one trailer with our Tandem while Mom followed towing our picnic lunch in the other trailer.

Parks, Cemetaries, and Housing tracts all offer relatively safe alternatives to Bike Trails.

Enjoy !!!!

I live on the outskirts of town, so I can just go away from town and ride rural back roads. If I am going somewhere in town I stay off main roads and go through residential neighborhoods (this is more peaceful anyway :) ). There is a park near me where I would normally have to ride on a 45mph highway with no shoulders, so I cut through a few parking lots. This way I only have to cross the road, not ride down it.

There is one steep, curved hill I haven't tried yet, but when I do I plan to dismount and walk the bike up the hill on the sidewalk (no one walks here eigther). I'm sure I could eventually pedal up the hill, but it is a blind curve and no one expects a bike there.

Cars give me a lot of room when they pass and I avoid rush times.
