Foo - Hebrew

Hey, may seem like a strange/unusual question, but does anyone here on the forums speak Hebrew? I ask because I'm looking to write a phrase or two (I have one in mind) in Hebrew on the inside of a book, and was wondering if someone could tell me what it is in Hebrew? Thanks alot, (you fellows are always so helpful!)

I would strongly suggest that you check any machine translation with a native speaker. Computers are getting good at translating, but we are not there yet.

This is true enough.....I tried a translation by Babelfish from English to Chinese back to English and got a truly bizarre result! I started it with an ad campaign I read about that Pepsi had in China that got screwed up:

Original English:

Pepsi tastes good enough to raise your spirits.

Translation back to English from the translation to Chinese:

Pepsi will resurrect your ancestors.

Do you want the phrase in biblical Hebrew, which is 'old style,' or in Modern Hebrew?

Yeah, not even close for anything beyond very basic sentences. I deal with this a LOT at work when people think they can get Babelfish or Google to translate a document instead of doing it themselves (translation companies even try to do this sometimes to documents we outsource, expecting we won't notice :rolleyes:). FWIW, Google Translate is much better at translating from Chinese than Babelfish, but can still be way off.

"I know you'll have a great and memorable time, but hopefully this will make your trip that much more special. Love, _____ ."

I'm writing it in the inside cover of a Hebrew book as a going away present. Doesn't have to be word for word, but the same idea, also it doesn't have to be in the Hebrew script. Thanks alot!

Hopefully (betikvah) someone here will correct this, although I'll try find someone else to check it tomorrow.
