Alright, so I just recently started bike couriering (maybe a month now?), and I've got some financial issues going. First off, for my first pay period, I got paid 137 for less than 2 days work. Now I'd reckon that's pretty good. Now the second time, I was injured immediately and had to take a week off work. However in total I was still able to work a rough 7 days or so. This time my pay was 440, minus a 60 dollar deduction for my radio, which turned it out to be 380. This sucked, but I thought it might've been because of my absense for a week (I did notify the company, and htey were fine with it) resulting in a penalty of some sort, thus I didn't raise any ****s and decided until next pay period to find out.

Now I just checked my bank account - 578 for the last two full weeks of work. What the **** is this? OK, so for the second pay period, the 440 might've been because of lack of work. But for the past two weeks I've been working pretty damn hard. I make about 20-25 deliveries on a daily basis or something of htat equilvalency, pretty generous calls too. I haven't seen the comission report yet to possibly find a reason for this, but I'm pretty certain this blows a **** of a lot. When I got into this the company had guaranteed me at least 400 a week.

So I was just wondering, is there a possibility that brokers are generally screwed around with when they start off? And what can I do about this?

Thanks

my first job in 1967 was as a bike courier (they called us delivery boys, but I also picked-up)...30-35 calls/day

gross weekly pay was $35.00, net $32.50 after taxes, +.05 per call

but it was a lot of fun

looks like things haven't changed
