I am in the market for a new wheel set. I am hoping to get some opinions on the following options:
Velomax Circuit II - $450 +
ColoradoCyclist built Mavic Open Pro w/ Dura Ace Hubs - $300
Any idea what the total weight would be on these once built up? Does anyone have experience with wheels built by CC?
Speed Dream AeroLite - At this point Dave Thomas isn't taking orders therefore I'd have to wait on these.
Mavic Ksyrium Elit - $500
Thanks!

If you are looking in the $450 to $550 range, why not go with Shimano Dura-Ace wheels. You can get them off ebay for around ~$550. It is an awesome wheelset!!!
I rock a set of the 2003 Velomax Circuit's and absolutely love them - not the lightest things you can buy, but very strong, fast, smooth rolling, and quiet. Can't say anything about the other wheels other than Colorado Cyclist has a great reputation for building some quality wheels.
You should checkout http://www.roadbikereview.com to see what a lot of other people have to say about the wheels you're looking at. Good luck.

Mavic Cosmic Elite are nice wheels, but if you are not concern with the price then go for the Ksyrium

If you get "handbuilts" from any mailorder, before ever riding them, take them into a good wheel guy and have them check them over.
I have seen many not even tensioned up.
Mailorder gives handbuilding a bad rep.
