Introductions - Newbie in Tampa, FL

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Hi folks, just wanted to introduce myself... I just purchased new bikes for myself and my girlfriend, we're wanting to get our butts in shape and explore all the trails here in the New Tampa area. I used to ride a lot in college but it's been about 5 years since I've done anything so I'm going to get back into the swing of things slowly. I bought myself a Kona Fire Mountain, it seems to be a decent entry level bike and the disc brakes are so far great. My major passion/hobby is nature photography so I will be combining the two... Trail riding should allow me easier access to remote locations for some great photography opportunities. I plan to become very familiar with all the trails in the Lower Hillsborough Wilderness Park area. Anyways, I just wanted to say 'hi' and I look forward to learning from everyone here on the BikeForums! Also, if anyone in the Tampa area would like to show a new guy around some trails let me know!

Hello Jersh, I hope you will post some of your photos in the various 'where'd you ride' threads. There's been a suggestion for an art forum:

but no action yet...sadly.
Welcome to BF!

East Hill,
Thanks for the welcome... I will definately share photos of my excursions. It will probably be a month or two before I start carrying my photography gear with me. I need to make sure I'm completely comfortable before I start carrying my expensive photo gear (and I need to get a new waterproof photo backpack).

Wonderful!
And I don't blame you about the gear. At least one member, patc, is a professional photographer, and is car free to boot! It always amazes me that he can do that.

Welcome, Tampon! I work at USF and often escape for an hour or two to ride the loop at Flat Woods. I'm the doofus on the green Trek fixed gear. Holler if you see me out!
Robb,
I work at USF as well, College of Medicine to be exact. You'll definately see me on the loop as well on a grey Kona
