Ok, I'm jealous of all you people with your fancy new bikes :p Here are some photos of my '00 Schwinn Paramount frameset, taken with my new digital camera (56k folks, these are 640 x 480 jpg's, sorry if they're a little slow):

I'm still trying to get the hang of the camera, so I can tell you right now, I'm glad I don't have to pay for film! ;)

Sweet... although cardboard makes for a poor wheel. :D How are you going to build it up?

Here's what I have so far, though... the Flite Evolution from my wrecked Fuji, on a used American Classic post...

...and a 3TTT forged-aluminum stem and Sachs PC-99 chain :)

For the rest, I'm thinking Ultegra for the most part. I keep wavering between some Shimano R540 wheels or just tried-&-true Open Pros with either Ultegra hubs, or Chris King hubs if I can find the money for them.

I'd never heard Chris King hubs before until last Sunday when one of the guys on our ride showed up with them. He was riding a custom titanium touring bike with Avid disc brakes and when he coasted I thought it was just disc brake howl due to seatstay flex (he would occasionally stand and stretch one leg then the other while coasting). It turns out the noise were his hubs. They made a kind of buzzsaw sound.

It's pretty :)

Sweet.

I'm looking to build up a second bike with a bunch of spare parts I have. That frameset looks like something I am looking for.

Chris king hubs are known for the buzz saw noise :) That is one sure way to recognize them, but also considered virtualy bullet proof.

Mech,

The paint scheme with the panel graphics are really nice.
Very classy in a retro kind of way.
Speaking of Retro I like the 3TTT quill stem.

we will expect pics of the finished product.

Marty Thanks everyone :) I like that refined, classic look of the frame too, and the classic forged stem does go nicely with it (now where can I find a plain, smooth-leather Flite with no kevlar/gel/split/markings?).

Keep in mind that I've actually HAD this frameset since early 2001, so the finished product may be a while coming yet! :( But I got bumped up to 80% of full-time at work, so maybe it will be sooner rather than later :) I'll certainly relish the ride when I do get it going... that 853 is some thiiiiiiin tubing, judging from the tone it makes when I flick it! It ought to ride very fine :)
