So I've been trying to find the definitions of Cat 1, 2, and 3 climbs and am not having much luck. What are the gradients and distances that define the climb categories????

thanx in advance

If you scroll down to the king of the mountains jersey section it has descriptions of all the cat.

The categories are quite subjective though because I remember seeing some climbs in the past that were greater than 4% and greater than 3km but rated only at cat-3. I'm not sure there are definitive benchmarks out there or at the very least between race to race.

Thanks, that's a good climb description that's posted on velonews.

I didn't know that Lemond said "it never get's easier, you just go faster" ..I use that saying sometimes and thought it was mine. <shrug>

I posted the same questions about 9 months ago. I got a response with a link that described how they get categorized. Do you a search and it should show up.
