Fifty Plus (50+) - Wow! I've missed a LOT

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

In fact I won't even try to catch up.
Ate like a pig -which was a huge concern- but since I walked my tail off (we walked everywhere), I came back weighing the same as when I left. Pshew.
Got two days -13 or 14 miles each day- in on a -the- stationary they had up in the gym which no doubt helped. I can tell you, though, that a stationary ain't a bike. I went out on the Reno last night for 13 or so miles are I could really feel the rust for the first 6 or 7 miles. After that, things began to hum a little. Still felt slow, though... my legs haven't fully recovered from the trip (not to mention the 6 hour flight home. Ugh.)
Good to be back home... y'all been good?
edit: BTW, I do want to say that Crocs are just the best airline shoes, ever.

Stapfam climbed Mt. Ventoux, JPPE climbed a wall, I climbed into my Lazy Boy and Blues Dawg figured out Tom Bombadil is nobody's real name. That's about it. Oh yeah, and yes, I been good. Glad to hear you had a nice V for Vacation.

Are you here now?
Mr Bombadil... thanks for pointing me to that post. Fantastic job, there, T-Man. You more than doubled my best to date. Way to go... now, go dust off that century. Speaking of puppies, ours arrive in about two weeks. Wonder what that's gonna do to my riding schedule?

I bought a BMX on Tuesday and gave it to a bike coop on Friday. Kind of a Solomon Grundy bike.

Oh yeah-"The Grampster" and I had a chance to hook up and do a ride together last week. Always terrific to meet and ride with fellow 50+ers.

You had some fun, then, did you?
And kept the weight at status quo? And rode last night? Then you're right in the mix.
As for a puppy...it will affect your riding. You'll be so overwhelmed with cuteness overload, as well as housetraining, that you'll hear the Reno calling, "Ride me. Ride me" when you walk past it.
We're working on our 2nd puppy in less than 2 years. The time we invest in him translates into "The Best Dog EVer!" stories in a couple of years. The few hours you lose off the bike are well worth the effort. Puppies are our hedge against Empty Nest Syndrome.
I dread the days when we no longer have young ones in the house.
Oh, and welcome back!
