I am going to be working on Saturday June 30th. That leaves me Sunday to ride. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a ride around that area, or if you would like to go for a ride post here.

Look at my motionbased digest (linked in my sig). What kind of ride are you looking for? Flat, rolling, climb, etc.?

If you are looking for a group, there is a really fast ride out of the East Beach Bath house parking lot at 9am.

Another popular meeting location is roco (http://www.santabarbara.com/dining/review_read.asp?pk_restaurant=1061), and there are often cyclists leaving from there at 8, 8:30, or 9 on sunday mornings.

There is a a "Tour de Santa Barbara" ride coming in from Van Nuys on Saturday and Danno and I have offered to take anybody who wants to stick around up Gibraltar (http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/activity/2897256). Failing that, I usually go around Lake Casitas (http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/activity/3051369) on Sundays.

what kind of ride are you interested in? long/hard/scenic? climbing? i might be in vegas that weekend, but if not, PM me and I could guide you though a nice ride.

there is also sunday "worlds" group ride that leaves from the bathhouse in downtown SB (corner of milpas and cabrillo). it can be intense but breaks up into different ability levels. leaves at 9am from the bathhouse.

UMD : Thanks for the motion based stuff I will check it out. I don't think I am fast enough to keep up with that group ride. On the Echelon website they consider moderate holding 35 to 40 mi. pace for about 2 to 2 1/2 hours.

bry4ntwoods8: I am looking to ride a moderate pace, scenic would be nice. I would like to get 40 miles in early Sunday morning between 6-7am.

The Sunday ride may well be too fast, but I think you are confusing things. That is for the Saturday ride, and its not a 35-40 PACE, thats the distance over 2 to 2.5 hours. The average speed is usually somewhere around 18-19. The "World's" is much faster... I've never been on it.

Anyway, I may be up for doing something with you sunday morning. I assume you mean starting between 6 and 7 though, otherwise that's pretty fast to do 40 miles in an hour!

I think we're planning on doing the Gibraltar climb on Sunday (http://www.bikeforums.net/showpost.php?p=1774880&postcount=14). Everyone will be at their own pace, so it will be as tough on you as you would like to push it.

An alternative is the Mountain Drive route (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?p=1848685#post1848409) that takes your through the highlands at the base of the mountains. Really scenic without too much climbing.
