Hey, What race are you riding this sunday? I haven't really been up to date on races around Oregon lately.

Nice bike! Never seen one of those in person. Nice to have a bike noone else around has! I was wondering what is going on with the seat stay? Is that one piece just colored differently, or what? Anyways, nice, unique bike!

Thanks! it is a bike not many have, and its kinda cool to be that way.

gonesh9, Im doing the Falls City Firecracker this weekend and the "seat stay" i think you might be confuzeing it with the seat "tube" and its decals, its one solid tube all the way down to the BB. it does kinda look like two pices in the pics.

Very, very nice!!! The water bottle cage seems in a bit of a scary place though.

Truly awesome looking (and I'm sure riding!) scoot. Let us know how the race goes on the new steed! :)

Oh, yah, seat tube....

Falls City has some excellent trails! I went to school in Corvallis, so was up in that area quite a bit. Some great swimming holes to cool off in, too. Good luck in the race, and let us know how it went.

I GOT FIRST PLACE!!! I GOT FIRST PLACE!!! :d and third place overall for beginers :d
the course consisted of a 1.5 mile climb up a semi steep gravel/dirt road then 1.5 miles down STEEEEEP single track... very fast i must say, with a few jumps aswell :d. The beginers (me) did 3 laps of 3.5 miles and the sports did 4 laps. and the experts/pros did something like 6-8 laps.

It was a great race, fun course and all in the shade wich made the 80 deg heat some what nice. the course was what seamed like a "freeride/bighit" trail beucase there was a few bridges we went over and some bridges to drops of more than 10 feet (We didnt go over them :d) along with a lot of man made jumps off stumps and huge bolders.
But there was this one guy while i was on my first lap who bailed over the bars about 10 feet in front of me and broke his collar bone, i went around him :p.
But yeah, I won... Im happy, it's all cool. :d

A little. You really can't help it out here. but really if I was gonna label myself right now aggresive xc. The more technical the better and I enjoy skinnies and stuff. Not a big fan of drops and hucks yet. I don't have the confidence to do anything too nutty yet. :)

Right on!
I ride fast singletrack mainly. I guess you could call it aggresive XC to but around here we dont have to manny skinnies but i also enjoy doing them when i get the chance. I like racing because its a challenge to push yourself

I am actually obsessed with Marin for some reason. I like the name. So one day at the shop, when I wasn't working, one of the wrench's took a Marinbikes.com decal and put it on my left chainstay. Didn't notice for 3 weeks. They kept saying, you love Marin so much don't you. I bet you didn't know your bike is a Marin now. I finally caught on.

Well depending on how long ago that was I can say I have been here 3 years and the trails have improved drastically in just that time :)

Could you tell me the standover height of your Marin bike? I'm looking for the new full sus. bike. Rift Zone is one of the bikes in my short list.

However, standover is the only item missing from the geo chart posted at marin website. I'm living in Corvallis and there is no Marin dealer around here as far as I know. Thanks :-)

Nice bike. Very appealing looks :)

Ok, back from my race (got 2nd). Would you like to know the height where the "V" dip is lowest? or the imaginary line between the head tube and seat tube?

BTW Agressor, i stuck on some Panaracer fire XC pro tires and they have a sick looking RED sidewall :D so the bike looks even more wicked than in the pics above :p

zome

Congrat. on the race!! Get on a podium a few more times and I will see you on KATU news :-)
Anyway, I would like to know the lowest height at the 'V'.

Thanks :-)

One top tube height coming right up....

Mad Dog JR
08-03-03, 09:09 PM
alright, its 30 and 1/4 inches. thats with a set of Panaracer Fire XC pro tires, the height might varry from the stock by a tad (1/8 or so maybe) and this is the 19" frame BTW.

zome

Thanks a lot. I aim for med frame with standover around 30. If the large frame is 30 1/4 inches, the med frame should be a bit smaller (yeh!)

Now I have a pretty good reason to go to that bike shop in Portland. :-)

thanks
