Southern California - Spring Charity Rides?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I've been looking into putting together a corporate team for the MS ride this October, but it might conflict with some other charity drives my employer does. Another option is to have a corporate team do a charity ride in the spring, when there'd be fewer conflicts. Are there any So Cal charity rides in the spring?

Brian, I'm not sure what you are asking. There are small charity rides for sure (e.g. Gearing Up for Abused Kids Tour de OC in April), but I'm not sure on the timing of the bigger ones or where exactly that they start. There is also Sea to Summit in May which benefits children as well. Are you looking for a ride on the same level as the MS ride?

Oh my gosh! Your looking for a spring charity ride. I have one for you, "The Lung Ride" http://www.kernlung.org/events/bike%20trek/bike%20trek.htm . Here are some pictures of this years event and what the funds are used for http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=285985 . The date for the ride will be May 16,17 & 18 2008 :)

I don't have any preconceived notions as to ride length, size, number of days, etc., so I'm leaving it to the folks on the forum to provide any ideas. The only caveat I might add is that the ride would accommodate a team of adult riders with varying abilities.

The Tour de Cure (for Diabetes) is in the Spring. There are several of them around.

If they do it again, the Conquer the Canyons road race also has a recreational ride to benefit autism. Beautiful 25-30 mile ride through the Conejo Valley.

Then, you might consider the Tour de OC. Excellent charity and great route. :)
