I just saw a pegoretti for a bit of a discount in a size that seems perfect, but I'm wondering how it would be suited for my dimensions... I'm 6'3" and just about 210 pounds.

One write-up mentioned that it would be perfect for "all but the largest riders." So, would it work for an all around roadie for me? What might be the issues with the frame?

Basically you need to know what the standover height is, or failing that the seat tube length, or top tube length. From those last two you can get a rough idea of standover by comparing with geometries of other bikes online for a given standover.

Get ye to a bike shop and straddle fwe models to see what you might typically fit. Who knows maybe you'll find something else. And we can snap up that Pegoretti whole you are getting bike lust. JK!

It may be right size for you, but one person's definition of "For all but the largest riders" can be very different from another's.

Pegoretti makes beautiful bikes.. and they may become something of a collectors item in the near future as Dario has been having a pretty rough battle with cancer. But either way they are Beautiful with a capital B.

biggest issue is the wheelset...assuming you're looking at a complete bike. what are the wheels on it?

It would be a build-up. I was thinking about Fulcrum 5 Evos, but I'm not sure yet. It's a glimmer of an idea at the moment.

If the only thing you are worried about is if it will handle your weight, go for it. This isn't some super lightweight racing frame. It is a 3.5 lb. steel frame. It should easily handle your scrawny 210 pounds.

It's nice to have somewhere to come where I can feel scrawny :D

On the road forum anyone over 110 pounds feels bloated as far as I can tell.

if you can choose your own bits, go for it. I'd make sure the wheels are very strong, along with seatpost and stem.

Go for it! The Competitive Cyclist website describes it as "stout enough for racing", and really, at 210 you're not THAT much of a Clyde. Anyone riding a frame that size is going to be closer to 200 than 150 anyway!
