I got these weird assed things at a liquor/drug store in Berkley. They look kinda legit, except they have chinese writing in conjunction with the English words on the front of the package, and it has a picture on the front of a piss poor immitation of the Energizer bunny wearing a shirt that says Duracell.

I've seen these once before, when I was on the Michigander. They last about 1/3 the time that actuall Duracell's last. Anybody else ever see these things?

yeah beware of forgeries.....the colgate toothpaste recall comes to mind (some ahole used antifreeze ingredients in their forgery of colgate toothpaste).

Really, people who make fake products suck for the most part.

You get what you pay for! It's a saying that rings true every day...and in every way.

If something seems cheaper than it should be...chances are....it's not just cheaper in price but cheaper in quality as well. theres no such thing as getting the exact same thing for less.

:roflmao:

Maybe that was a sign they were not the real thing. Funny. If they were 1/3 the price and lasted 1/3 the time, I guess it's fair.

No, they weren't cheaper. They were a rip off. But this time I knew what they were. I bought them as a novelty item to show people.

If the electronic shifting catches on, you may need Duracell for your Dura Ace.

:) I can see the conversation at the store right now:

Clerk: "What size do you need? D, C, A, AA...?"

Cyclist (clad in spandex, wrap around shades, and helmet while in the store): "The one that goes to 400 watts."

electronic shifting.......will lead to......

What's better Ti batteries or CF batteries? Copper wire or aluminum wire? Are Ultegracell batteries a better value than Duracell batteries for the price? Is soldering better than crimping? Is Recordcell better than Duracell?

I just bought some $1500/foot deoxygenated, balanced shifter wire. What's the point of using a specially modified Recordcell system with the pitiful stock wiring?

Don't feed them to your pet.

Maybe battery makers should go back to having battery charge meters on their batteries, where you pressed two areas, and a bar would show the charge. The old Duracell battery meter kicked butt, and if done today definitely would raise the bar against cheap counterfits.

Or, maybe get with a company like Novavision, buy a system like

and put a tamper resistant sticker on battery cases.
