Hi Everyone. My 13 yr old son needs a new BMX bike. He drove his Haro to the ground. He spends his days at the trails/dirt jumps using the bike for jumping. He has narrowed his choices to:

DK StepUp '07 Model
MirraCo Signature 07 Model.

The DK bike is 31 lbs which I thought was a little heavy but I cannot get a weight on the Mirra bike although the reviews claim it is very lightweight.

Does anyone even recommend a different bike? Are these 2 good? Which one is better?
Any input would be very helpful.

Thank you for your time.

I can't seem to get to the MirraCo bike, the site is messed up, but I know the Step-Up ain't the greatest bike around. I would go with a DK Six-Pack or a Stolen Wrap. Two best starter bikes. By the way, what is your budget?

if i were you i would put more money down if he can run a haro to the ground. but i like the mirraco better.

Budget is $200-$240.

Was a little hesitant to go with the MirraCo bikes since more than half of them have been recalled already.

Any other brand I should look into???

Thanks for the help!!

yes look into haro again and redline. the redline link 1.1 is pretty built from the factory for the price.
