Who the hell writes the scripts for these things?
So I'm watching TV and a Valtrex commercial comes on. Depicting an attractive, fit, younger couple, and their talking casually to the camera man about how the guy has genital herpes, and they used to have sex between outbreaks. (She KNOWs this for a fact, and she is apparently completely unmoved by this fact, as though she is totally fine with the risk of just doing it between outbreaks with the infected guy).
The Valtrex statistic flashes on the screen indicating they are still at increased risk without Valtrex. So the interview continues, and they talk about how know that they are on Valtrex, they are STILL having sex, and she is still uninfected.
HELLOOOOO!?!!? How about this -- STOP HAVING SEX! You know the guy's infected, and you're just dating at this point, so instead of being so nonchalant about it, why not STOP the sex?
Also, how much did they have to PAY this guy to play the part of the herpes-infected dude on TV?

I agree. Some commercials are just gross. "Constipation slow me down? No way!"

They're just playing to the "have your cake and eat it too" mentality. STD got you down? Here's another drug to add to your armoury. Now go f***!
Sad, really.
... and use Enzite to make it bigger and Viagra to make it harded, longer.
I love that commercial. When the couple says, "I have herpes"..."And I don't", my gf and I are always like, "No, but you will! Hahahaha!"

IO dunno....the commercials I find truly reepy are
Enzyte, with Smiling Bob! Do they recruit Stepford people for that?
Burger King Commercials, I guarantee, if "The Burger King" started following me around and stalking me, I'd at least have to use Bear Spray!

The BK commercials where you wake up and the "King" is in bed next to you and he makes you eat his burger is hilarious.

Always want to combine casts-scripts-products. How about: Jack Links Jerky-Messin' with the Saquatch+ the Valtrex commercials? Smiling-Bob Enzyte commercial + Free Credit Report.com?

Exactly. You made my point for me more succinctly.

They are trying to recreate Sixties suburbia. I don't know why. Consumer Reports says Enzite is nasty stuff and that once they get your credit card number it's an incredible pain to get them to stop billing you.
For some reason their commercials don't bother me, I guess it's the camp aspect to them.
The BK commercials are just weird in a creepy sort of way.

I guess it's just proper etiquette to give someone a croissanwich the morning after giving them your whopper the night before.

I dunno - I'm still in a stunned mode about the "may experience violent diarahhea" symtoms or having to be able to sit upright for 30 minutes that I can't imagine going to a doctor and asking about stuff like that.
<shudder>
