I'll let you know when I do. What direction should I send the smoke signals?

I like it when I find something that takes me completely away from thinking about anything else.
- cycling up hills while trying to keep my heart from exploding
- windsurfing while trying not to drown
- investigating a good problem (I'm a software tester) so much that I forget to eat/drink/go to the loo (I'm also English)
- watching a good movie without adverts
- reading a book to my son
- getting blind drunk

I drive down to the red light district, where a peace usually flags me down and asks if I want a date.

My peace or my boxers? :)
Actually I was in a melancholy mood when starting the thread, but getting some sleep can do wonders.

It was behind the couch the whole time!!
But you posted a question without answering ...
Hmmm my peace.
Peace is riding alone, sweet afternoon, low humidity, no wind ... peace.
Or ... <I'm learning these terms now> the new Foo takes over ... PIECE!
Pie? Meat? Either one at the moment would be nice! (meat first though ... and take that for what it may mean :D)

Pretty much any activity that gets me out in nature, moving around, blood pumping and endorphines flowing. Writing, drawing, painting, singing and playing guitar does wonders too. Sometimes it helps to take a deep, introspective, relaxing sit in the mountains. Sometimes all it takes it to watch the sunset or bite into a perfectly ripe slice of mango. Almost always, I can find peace when I loose myself in a rhythm and let the primal beat of the drums mingle with my own.

Empty, windy road
Top down
Snick-snick of the short throw six speed
Loud pedal down
F20C screaming to a 9k redline
Wind through the air
Laughing out loud as if I had not one care in the world
Because at that precise moment, I don't
Besides driving, living gives me peace. Nothing like standing in awe of the majestic glaciers in Juneau, the crystal blue waters of Cancun, the loud, raucous crowd at the Calgary Stampede, the setting sun casting red shadows on the scampering, laughing Navajo children you're chasing - moments when you feel alive -

I find it hiding deep in chocolate or biking or sitting by the beach.
I find it hiding deep in chocolate or biking or sitting by the beach.
I'm now going to cover myself in chocolate and ride my cruiser down the beach.
Anyone want to join me?

Cycling. Sitting in silence beside a lake or river, watching the water. Silently watching the flames of a fire in a fireplace.

1) I intentionally left the statement open-ended to see where the thread would go. I didn't want to influence the responses in any way. I figured it wouldn't take long for the "peace of ass" answer to surface, but I didn't expect it to be the second post!
2) Your answer was, umm, thought provoking. :)
3) In no particular order, here's my answer:
being outside in nature
being high up, where I can look down on a valley or the surrounding countryside
riding, especially in the evening when it is warm but not humid, light to no wind, on a smooth road with a nice sunset*
music
playing with my nephew and niece
traveling to new places
*yeah, I know that sounds like a suck up copy of the answer I quoted, but it's true.
