Both did it for tax dollars and max profit but in diff. ways. The first (Huizenga) dumped salaries from the team to lower his tax payment for that year and to sell the team with very low salary cost to the buyer. Loria buys teams every 4 or 5 years (and sells the one he owns at that time) because baseball has a rule that for the first 4 or 5 years (can't remember which) you don't have to pay any league taxes (and I think MLB covers some of the taxes on the stadium too -- it's to entice new buyers), so when that deadline's about to end, he sells the team. He's on his third team.
