With most FOOsters, a search party would just turn into a PAR-TAY!

I am still here guys, just i've been working and trying to fix my car because the shops around here cannot do a simple thing without f'ing something else up. I am currently looking for a new MTB :)

No a 1989 Accord. I asked a shop to balance my tires, and they ended up cross threading the studs and chewing up the threads. So they said they will fix it, but since they f'ed up such a small part i wouldn't trust them taking the whole knuckle and hub apart. So i did it myself.

Yeah, I read that thread! That sucked badly, but I'm just happy he wasn't hurt!

He's also getting ready to transfer, isn't he?

She's around. Busier and spending less time on the forum. :( I last saw her at a BikeForums group ride in April, when she saved my butt and SAG'd me through the last 40 miles of the ride. :o

The first person to ever respond to one of my posts in Foo. She's not around much, but she occasionally drops by. She just posted last night.

I'm still around folks.

Why I'm not on more....

1. I have a new job that although is great :

A. Is very, very busy.
B. Boss does not allow internet on company time. Period.

2. It's summer and I'd rather be ridding my bike, motorcycle or hanging out with friends than sitting in front of my computer. :p ;)

I really have been quite busy this spring and so far this summer. I'm looking forward to seeing abunch of you in Lancaster this summer. Anybody wanna go halves on a room for the Saturday night? PM me.

I'll be back online more in the fall....never fear.:D :p

I'm here too, and back up and riding/racing while the Pinarello spends some time on the disabled list. I was able to whip up a nice race rig within 48 hours of that fateful crash...

And yes, I'm about to start my Thoracic/Vascular Surgery rotation on Sunday. Back to the grind with me--It'll be tougher to find time to ride when the work schedule goes back to 80-100 hrs/week. :(

What did Cinelli say about the repair?

What did Cinelli say about the repair?

It was Calfee, but they said it would be around $400. Not bad considering the replacement cost of the frame.

I knew it started with "C". (dang roadies have to be so perfect). How long till your baby comes home?

I know that epoxied joints tend to be stronger than whatever's being joined, but repairing something as brittle as carbon fiber would make me a bit nervous.

Well, once it's out there it takes 3-4 weeks. But I have to take it by the local Pinarello dealer this week because the frame needs to be shipped completely bare and I can't get the fork out. Yay for proprietary headset designs. :(

I have to say, though, I'm lovin' the Cannondale in the mean time. It's a hell of a bike. :)

Calfee apparently repairs frames that have snapped in half and they've gone on to ride trouble-free, so my little cracked top tube will be a piece of cake. Guess you just have to know what you're doing and have the right tools for the job...

Guess you just have to know what you're doing and have the right tools for the job...Heh, of course. Good luck with yours, and you're right, $400 sure beats the hell out of whatever a fancy carbon fiber frame is going for these days. (For the purposes of this thought, I'm going to ignore that that's what I paid for my steel frame... :p)
