DAMN that looks fun. :) I need to get out there for beginner's day.
Only one light crash in the closing laps of the race.
Kudos to everyone who track races. :)

I did a beginner's day yesterday at a track - it was a total rush - do it
It's so much more involved than road, it was so wild being able to look DOWN and see a rider UNDERNEATH you! Super cool.

Best sport there is....takes the best part of bike racing and puts it on show for a crowd.
shame it only gets coverage in most countries @ Olympics.

I think I'm gonna try it out when I get a few more miles under my belt. I've been out of cycling for a few years. This summer I'll try it out a couple times.
Awsome ! definetly ride track im gonna see my first race tommorow morning . but so far ive just been riding at the velo , just training almost always by myself . still its a rush going all out either chasing or bieng chased. maybe ill sign up for a race myself just for the adrenaline rush !!!! definetly go out and try it. your first time may be free just so you can get a taste . you rent the track bikes or borrow a friends. i was hooked from the start , 3 weeks later i purchased my first track bike. i hardly road now , i have a $5k bike with 2k wheels just sitting in the garage cause id rather go and ride the bikes they have at the velo which are probably worth 100 bucks and falling apart. LOL

Every situation you get into once or twice in a crit comes around many times a night on the track. Position and thinking/reacting quickly becomes everything. If bike racing is a chess match, track is the speed chess version.

track is a total blast--- it distills away all the boring bits of races on the road and just leaves the exciting parts, and spectators can see the whole thing all the time.

...spectators can see the whole thing all the time.
That's why NASCAR is so popular.
