Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Just some info that may prove helpful to all you looking for interchangability info or...can I use this manufacturers cassette with that manufacturers lever? This chart will give some thicknesses for the different manufacturers spacers and cogs. spacer thickness=st, cog thickness=ct.

8 spd (Campag., Old Sachs) st=3.1mm, ct=1.9mm
8 spd(Shimano, SRAM) st=2.95mm, ct=1.8mm
9 spd(Campag.) st=2.8mm, ct=1.75mm
9 spd(Shimano, SRAM) st=2.56mm, ct=1.78mm
10 spd(Campag) st=2.45mm, ct=1.7mm

Resourceful souls have learned that it is possible to sand spacers so that they can mix and match different indexing systems. It is best to do this between two honing stones or two blocks with sandpaper wrapped around them to get even sanding across a spacer. If you don't mind a little extra drive train noise, and a little extra wear, you can mix and match some of these with out any sanding. Hope this helps.

I have seen mention in catalogs of spacer kits for adapting Shimano <->Campy
when one has cassettes of one and shifters of the other. I am away from home so can't reference these. Steve

Branford Bike has the following for conversion for
Campy drivetrain and Shimano cassettes:

The Wheels Manufacturing Shi-CA8 spacing kit will allow you to convert a Campagnolo steel 8 speed cassette to a Shimano 8 speed cassette.
Your new, 8 speed cassette, will shift well with all Shimano 8 speed rear derailleurs and Shimano 8 speed shifters. You may NOT mix Campagnolo shifters with Shimano derailleurs or Shimano shifters with Campagnolo derailleurs.
