Bicycle Mechanics - New cables won't shift.

I just installed Nokon cables on my otherwise stock Shimano Ultegra system. Since I installed the cables, the bike won't whift. I've been messing around with the cable tension on the rear derailleur and no matter now much I mess around with it, the shifters won't control the RD. I haven't even gotten to the FD yet, but it's the same.
I've got no stand and no time to do anything drastic. I really don't want to have to take it into work, but I've got a race tomorrow morning and work nonstop from 1pm to 11pm today at two places.

Do you have time to take everything off and re-do it?

I'm not familiar with Nokon, but do they make their housing brake or derailleur specific?

All I know about Nokon is that they're stupid expensive and I've never heard anything good about them.

I believe that nokon uses slghtly narrower cables than the standard ones, if you used standard cables, that might explain the inability to shift, but then again, if you were able to get the cable through, there should be at least some movement within the housing system.

Does the cable move through the housing and not do anything? Or are you unable to move the shift levers?

Sounds like maybe you didn't pull the cable tight from the very beginning, or it slipped in the pinch bolt, or possibly the housing is shifting underneath your bar tape if you've retaped already. Start from scratch and be sure to pull the cable taught and tighten securely while in the small cog (no tension) shift position.

Double check inside the shifter to make sure the cable is seated correctly after tightening the RD pinch bolt before you start shifting and adjusting.

+1. You'll need to be more specific - what's it not doing? Cables are fairly straight forward and easy to diagnose.

Can you move the levers?
Are the cables taught?
Is the cable pinch bolt tight?
Are your levers sychronized with the der position?

Something else to check is the cable ends: Is it a clean cut or is it sort of pinched off? If it's pinched off, you'll have to carefully trim off the pinched housing and make it a clean cut.

I'm guessing that not everyone knows what Nokon cables are.
