When surrounded at Waterloo, General Cambronne reportedly gave one of these responses to the call for his surrender:

"The Guard dies, it does not surrender!"

"Merde!" (translated, "S*it!")

Well, I won't go that far! :D

But I won't stop cycling just because I had an accident. ;)

Why does it seem that every bike ride is another battle in the war? Not that biking isn't fun, but it just seems there are so many people bent on making cyclists lives all that much harder.

It is all the more surprising when one is assaulted by a pedestrian. In my experience, cagers seem to be the aggressors, not people on foot. I can only assume the assailant was on his way to his automobile.

Pete, you are one tough bugger, and an inspiration to us all.

Isn't it a truism that a pedestrian is just a motorist that's found a parking spot? - (I think I got that one from ChrisL).

ps. Pete, that was no accident.

Chris L is confused, he has never heard this one before. However, Chris L agrees that the incident was no accident.

Yesterday, I saw a cyclist who only had one foot. His other foot was in a toe clip and he was pedalling quite fine. While I have no idea how he lost his foot (whether bicycle-related or not), this was one cyclist who was not going to let an accident stop him from cycling.
