Tandem Cycling - a new tandem team here!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

me and my wife have introduced ourselves to tandeming!
we are really new to this but not to cycling. as for our ride, we decided to get a TREK T900 for a start.
with a few the practice run around the neighborhood, we dared to go to our first 60kms ride. what a blast!
i have a feeling we will be keeping and single bikes in storage for a while.
anyway, i will definitely need a lot of advice from all you guys. thanks in advance!

Canadian? German? In either case you two will want to look into carbide studded tires for the winter season. Or have I made a bad assumption?

The only thing you should ever say to your stoker, is: "Shut up and peddle!"
It's considered bad form to talk to, or warn the stoker about bumps, or even acknowledge the presence of the person behind you.

He only thinks I'm peddling :)

You, sir, should be drawn and quartered and made to ride backward in the stoker's seat.
Unless your tongue was firmly planted in your cheek and I overlooked it.
Desert Fox, please disregard Sheldon's post. He's obviously hallucinating and thinking of some other sport.
Welcome to the fine world of tandem bikes, and may you & your stoker enjoy many happy hours two-gether(tm Rudy & Kay).
We like pictures, so feel free to post them.

we are both Pilipino transplanted to Canadian soil :)

That whooshing noise your heard was my (clearly not serious) post going over your head. I'll use smaller words next time. :D

Great pictures, the Silver/grey Trek is a sharp looking bike.
You two are off to a great tandeming start.
Enjoy the togetherness and teamwork of tandem bicycling.
