I have been looking for good threadless one-inch BMX-style forks. I want to retro-fit a threadless one-inch head set onto a raliegh twenty folder frame. The only problem is the steerer tube must be at least 8- 9 inches for this particular application. I am not finding exactly what I need on the market, so my other idea was to take an old 1" Rock Shock head tube/crown and remove the old oil shocks and have a frame builder add two fork custom prongs/tines. Should fit 20" wheels..... BMX is probably wider than needed for this frame and wheel but would work as well.

thanks for any information. I am in the NYC area but I am sure this job could be farmed out...

Has anyone retro fitted rock shox? I think I might go with that idea...
