That was yesterday, on paved trail, and it's my new record, previous max was 110.
I set out just before noon with the goal of 120 miles, and planned to achieve it by focusing on my rpm more than speed. So, I pedaled at the rate my body wanted and exerted force whenever I felt strong.
On top of perfect weather (mid-70's), my nutrition choices were flawless, resulting in a nearly non-stop final 60 miles. Also, maintaining a nice steady cadence of around 90 made for very comfortable cycling. My only discomfort was running out of daylight as I approached home.
This morning, I am feeling pretty good: no soreness, healthy appetite. But, I sure do not want to get back on the bike again.

Ahhh...but, you had many more hours of daylight than we did down here in the Southland.

"I pedaled at the rate my body wanted and exerted force whenever I felt strong." ..... that's exactly the way I ride, and I can go for a very long time that way.
Good to hear you want to get back on the bicycle again too ... that's a good sign that your ride went very well. :)

Hehe yeah, a bit too much of it in fact. Has it's advantages for slow people like me, but going to bed when it's full daylight outside can be a bit of a mess.
Hi, baron!
I live near you, in Dayton. I'm planning this Tuesday on riding to the Bicycle Museum of America on a high speed, long distance day trip. Not sure how many miles it is there and back but I'm going to figure that out. I'm going to catch the RTA to Union and ride the rest of the way. Wish me luck!
