I normally do OK on the hills. Not exactly KOM but I can usually get up some fairly stiff climbs (by East Coast standards, anyway).
However, this summer I'm in training for a half marathon, on a little bit of an accelerated schedule (8 weeks instead of 12). I'm cycling maybe 2-3 days a week, getting in 1-2 rest days, and doing half or less my normal mileage and running the rest of the time.
Now the hills are killing me, and I'm wondering if there is a way to figure out if it's because I'm not doing as much hill work as usual, or if my training schedule has gotten me a little overtrained. Motivation is good, the running is going well, and I'm not much more sore than usual.
Thoughts, suggestions?
