It's been a few months since our last DFW BF's meet & greet and there were a number of members who were not able to make it, and we have had a good number of new members since then. So, after some suggestion in the TexMex thread, let's kick off discussion about a Meet & Greet for, what else, TEX-MEX!

Open to suggestion on location, let's try to pick somewhere as equa-distant to everyone as possible. Somewhere of a decent size would be best so they can handle a group of 10+ without too much wait or trouble would be ideal as well. Let's plan for a time some time for the first week of July or so?

EDIT:

Day / Time: Monday July 2nd. 7pm
Location: 7 Salsa's Irving.

Location:
Valley Ranch · 8140 N.MacArthur Blvd. · Irving, TX. · 972 – 402 – 0777
(1 block North of L.B.J. 635 @ Ranchview Dr.)

I am open to going anywhere... I can't do Wednesday, July 4th, but I should be open to other nights (have to ask the boss.)

Here are some other choices: http://www.guidelive.com/feature/29/

Yeah, July 4th is going to be obviously crazy at every resturant in town so let's not make a bad situation worse. In fact, not sure what I'm doing for the 4th, but that's another thread...

How about Monday the 2nd? I'll be in town and can make it for sure! I just have to decide on the trek, the p-38 bent, or the lowracer to blow the doors off tha thang!

Monday is good for me, too! Anyplace in Dallas county. Even Tarrant if it's Joe T's. I've heard you don't leave hungry.

I live in Foat Wuth so anything a bit closer would work. If we rode trinity trail we could prtage to pappasitos in trinity park! It's only be 8 miles to the place along an easy trail.

I'm throwing 7 Salsas into the hat. there are 2 locations are McArthur Blvd, one block north of 635,
the other on Denton Tap 1 block north Sandy Lake.
Excellent food, a bit different than the usual texmex fare.
worth the drive.

My workgroup used to go to seven salsas near sandy lake and they seemed to like it, I'm originally from Connecticut so you know. TexMex  . They also La Hacienda Ranch over on 35E south of 3040 for fancier occasions.

Monday is good for me.

Central location suggestion: Casita Dominguez. Near Blackwell and Greenville ave in Dallas. Its behind the big Half Price Books on NW Hwy.

Is this just a meet or a ride + Meet?

cuda2k
06-25-07, 12:42 PM
Ya'll can get a short ride organized before/after if you want. I'll probably be skipping the ride if one happens and bringing the wife out for the food and drinks. I'll try not to have a repeat of the SoCal meet & greet when I was out there and had 1 too many Margaritas!

I have mondays off, so that day is cool! I am car free so I will ride to the event. Most anywhere in the greater Dallas area is within range for me,and time isn't a factor as I will ride at night. Please provide an address to make sure I can find the place.:D

I'm in. If we don't do Joe T's, which would be hard to get to on a weekday for our North Dallas patrons (but well worth the drive), and overcrowded on a weekend, I would say Irving or Dallas. That said, if you ever were going to do Joe T's, a Monday night would be least crowded. If you love to eat great food, you know that Dallas is the place, with a few exceptions of course. So, I'm up for Dallas options too. Anyone been to Javiers? I've heard it is excellent, but I don't know how much it is. I'll take a look. Also, I heard 7 Salsa's was good. However, anywhere is good for me. I'll be bringing my wife as I don't think I could get away with eating mexican food without her.

Ok, I'm going to suggest 7 Salsas. If no one has any opposition to that I'll add it to the first post information and that will be that.

And...does anyone want to ride before or after? I don't have a clue about riding in that area, but I'm game. Need to earn those tortillas!

aikigreg,
I ride around here almost daily, not too far from 7 salsas. The problem is that the restaurant is on
Mc Arthur drive and it's heavy traffic to say the least (I wouldn't ride on it).
As this will be an after work affair for me I'm gonna pass on the ride but I can provide a pretty
good 15 or so mile loop for you.

For pre/post-dinner riding there's the Riverside MUP over there, and can never neglect LB Houston (prolly FLOODED for the next 4 months with all the blasted rain). What day and time? Does the place have good 'ritas???

Irving is good for me. I work in Grapevine and it's a pretty straight shot down the highway to 635 and then MacArthur. It will be nice to meet all of you and possibly admire your bikes. Promise I won't drool on them ;)

MacArthur is only scary to ride between 6:30am and 11:00pm. You can ride on it any other time of day.:p

I've got a truck and shuttle a rider or two to the resturant from a safer riding point for those who might be on 2 wheels.
