They LOOK nice & comfy but I would like to hear from anyone who has tried one. http://i7.tinypic.com/4lr81ma.jpg

I've never tried one, but it looks like one of those saddles that would put pressure on the soft tissue of one's nether regions. That's not such a good idea.

I have 1 on my bike now. damn comfy. was going to get a sport version by bell, but when I bought this seat, "MY" seat was pretty damn sore from a trek on the orginal *a$$-cracker seat that came with my bike. had to put the original on cause the seat I had on the bike got bent pretty bad from a crash. 2min into the ride on the original seat and i knew i was gonna be in trouble!
*a$$-cracker refers to the stock sport seats they put on bikes that molds to the crack of your $&#@

I've seen those at discount stores.
In general this type of seat tends to be comfortable for short rides but then get uncomfortable on longer ones - say after 45-60 minutes or so. Of course this can differ person to person.
Thanks everyone. It sounds like it may work OK for me since I don't plan to ride much more than a hour at a time.
There has been some complaints about the gel packs breaking on the Bell. Get the Schwinn Pillow Top over at Target (or Amazon.com) for about the same price $20.00.

I have one on my bike. I don't ride more than 25 miles at a time and so far the seat has been comforable enough. I did have to adjust the angle of the seat a bit. I kept sliding forward in the seat as I rode which was a bit painful. Also adjusting the height of my seat helped a lot with my sliding forward problem.

I'd agree 100% with this. Was recently looking at a seat. Almost bought this one, but ended up with the Schwinn because of the issues with the gel packs and elastomers and am very happy with it.

If you have a bike shop that sells Planet Bike saddles, they have a couple of well-made cushy saddles.
Such as this one for $30.

What type of bike are you going to put it on?
Not sure yet. I have a offer for a free cruiser and also a free mountain bike of some type. I haven't seen either but I think the cruiser is a single speed. I'm supposed to go pick up a free tandem and take a look at the mountain bikes this weekend. The lady couldn't remember the brand/s. Which ever I get, it will be used to just tool around the house, hike & bike trails and at campgrounds to run to the showers etc. nothing "serious" by any means.

and at campgrounds to run to the showers
ha, everytime I needed to run to the showers, a bike would be the worst option.......if u get what i mean!
My wife has one on her bike, she likes it.
By far better than the original one.At least now it is her legs that hurt and not her butt.

hr2510,
i have a schwinn seat similar to that one with gel inserts similar to the Bell design. It's comfortable, but i recently switched to a Spiderflex seat and I've found that the Spiderflex is much more comfortable than the traditional type of seat. You might want to check out Spiderflex... (www.spiderflex.com (http://www.spiderflex.com)). i was skeptical, but after having fiddled with the seat adjustment, I found a configuration that feels quite comfortable, much better than my Schwinn bike seat.
spiderflex offers a 30 day trial period.

I put one on my wifes bike and she didn't like it. I put a smaller seat on hers and put the Bell on mine....I LIKE IT!!:)

I loaded the bikes and tool bag then went to a park near us. I rode beside and behind the wife to get a look at how her bike fit plus asked questions on how she felt. It took about 3 adjustments to get it comfy for her. By this time I had a good idea of what I needed to do with mine. Two adjustments later and I was close. I still need to raise mine a bit but waiting on the new 5" taller handlebars to arrive then I will do the final adjustments.

My wife has one of those, I just bought it for her the other day, and she loves it. However, coming from the stock seat, most things would be an improvement.
I don't think those are gel packs. I think they're just air inside there. Also, on the bottom, what appear to be springs, aren't. They're just rubber things made to look like springs.
edit: I take it back, there is another version out there that is very similar with air bubbles instead of gel.
I have the older version of that seat on my own bike, the one with actual springs, and it is quite good. It does start to burn after an hour, as it doesn't do anything about ventilating your bum.
I hear the best for that are the Brooks, but those are in a different caliber in many way$. ;)
The rubber "springs" in back do cussion the blows and seem to be less bouncy compared to a seat with real springs. Between the Bell seat and new riser handlebars I now enjoy riding in comfort.:)
