I'm planning on it.
3 friends and I are planning on it, but so far the majority vote is for 50miles. I'd prefer to do a metric century.... even if I am sore afterwards. I think I need to look up the map to see if I can maybe ride part with them, then split to the longer route. One is a beginner biker and has never done more than 25ish miles... but does seem promising. Another road the MS150 last year, and the third has ridden the MS150, but just feels out of shape (and will probably be on a new fixed gear, cause his roadie is falling apart).
Oh man, I need to do some bike maintenance before then. crap. Maybe I'll put off my fixed conversion and ride it in the Flatland. It's in better shape than my regular roadie. :o

I should be there if the weather holds out. Last years ride was extremely hot. It took me 5.5 including rest stops and count them, three flats. I plan on the 100 mile route but will decide on the day of the ride. I'll be on my own so I would love to hook up with some other BF members if possible. Let me know if there are any takers.

I survived my NC ride but didn't ship my bike back in time to use it on the KF. It won't arrive until Monday. I guess I will ride either my steel Specialized Allez or my fixed gear. My 5900 frame should be back from Trek when I get home but some of the parts (brifters and wheels)are on the bike I took to NC. I'll have to decide if I want to suffer or ride in comfort. I guess it depends on the heat. I have not ridden since the 4th so I might be tight or maybe I'll have fresh legs.

If I make it I'll be on a red Colnago Master B. Red steel bike, chrome lugs with a carbon fork and carbon rear triangle, white handlebars and seat. I'm big so you can't miss me, 250 lbs and 6'6".

I'll be the fat guy with the bright red Trek 1500 and a silver trek helmet (typical newbie, i got one with a visor, which acts like a big slow-me-down sail if my head is too high up.

Ride your bike it’s a great way to warm up. Just kidding. I-10 West is the only way. Map Quest should get you from your house to the start location at the mall with no problem. Watch the news for road construction on I-10 West and the beltway area.
It is a good ride. It starts slow because there are so many people. Be very careful the first 10-20 miles. I saw several crashes last year.
I should have on a brown/black and pink jersey that says Fatcyclist.com with a picture of a Clydesdale horse on it. The jersey is from Twin Six and all proceeds go towards cancer funding. Keep an eye out for me I would love to have others to ride with.

yeah, i had my blackberry in my bag under the saddle... i didn't think to put it in a ziplock bag, and now it's in pieces on my kitchen table, drying out (hopefully it will work again).
I've never had rain falling on my head and being sprayed in my face at the same time before... I guess I was riding too close to the person in front of me!

Rain wasn't pleasant, but doesn't bother me too much. I think it MIGHT have claimed my phone also. Definatly a fun ride that I'll be back to.

There was a guy on a bike who's crank came apart, we helped him get his bike together. Then like 3 miles to the finish and one of our guys got a flat.
The best part about the ride was hearing the comments of people who were surprised to see a fixed gear leading our pace line.
Ofcourse motorpacing behind a full size van was nice!

I was towards the back, we were going about 23 mph down FM 529, it ended at the first rest stop. We considered again behind the ambulance, but it was going to fast.

Ya! That's about where ya'll passed me. You guys were following that van in the oncoming lane and I remember thinking that if he had to come to a quick stop there was going to be a big pileup.

Yeah, I was towards the back of the motor pace... riding a black Bianchi wearing a blue and white Men's Wearhouse jersey. I was pretty much out of the draft, and when the slinky effect took place with the slowing i was fighting just to keep with the group... not much draft back there, might as well have been a regular pace line. The guys at the front were out for a sunday stroll... NO wind up there. I was keeping plenty of distance, but in all honesty if things got real nasty, there wouldn't have been anywhere to go.
