This question has probably been asked a million times but..
When I pedal there is a click eminating from either the bottom bracket area or the left pedal but I can not tell. I can not feel it in my feet either.. It only happens when I apply power to the left pedal just after the top of the stroke. My bike is a Trek 4300 only about 3 months old and with 25 miles on it. I am thinking maybe the pedal is bad since it would be the weakest link (cheap junky pedal) vs the bottom bracket. I live in Hong Kong so there is a bit of a language barrier when talking with my local shop. Maybe I should buy a wrench and swap the pedals? Thought before I start a possible "wild goose chase". If it is the BB is there any risk to my frame (BB housing) by continuing riding?

I'd say it is unlikely that you have a problem in a bearing so soon. I'd check the torque on the bolts that hold the crank arms onto the BB, and I'd do it soon. Riding lots of miles with loose cranks can wreck the arms.

PS - this is a layman's view, but I've had a few new bikes with improperly torqued cranks. They all made funny noises from clicks to creaks until I tightened them up. Then they stopped.

I had a similar click/creak, chased it around and found the pedal was not tight against the crank arm. Make sure the pedal is snug, and do all the "cheap" things first.

I also had a similar problem that ended up being the pedal. Remove, clean and replace that pedal to see if that fixes the problem.
