I entered the Cat 5 30+ race. This was my first race. Needless to say I need ALOT of work. I think I was on the course all of 12 minutes before the official pulled me off. Man those guys were fast. :)

It was a great experience though and I can't wait to try it again next year.

Hilton Clarke of Navigators Insurance won the 2007 Saturn Rochester Twilight Criterium for the second year in a row!

Was anyone else in Rochester to see this race?

I have some short videos HERE (http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=CyclingForCancer).

I was over in Buffalo doing the ride4roswell and visit family. I was thinking about driving over to rochester to watch that race but never made it. Looking at those videos I really wish I did go!!

2007 was my First year to go to this event and I was AMAZED! I've known about it for the last few years, but taking care of my Grandson on the weekends when he was a baby kept me away from some things.

This year, it was all feet in. Of course working for the Shop that puts the race on ensures me that I would be there! LOL! What a LONG day! 08:00 at the shop to load some stuff up, worked in the shop till 3 o'clock, and then to the race area to man our tent. I was there till everything was over and then the cleanup and tear down began. Got home around 1:30 the next morning!

It was ALL worth it!

Some things that I took away from this:

1) Some people ask really GREAT Questions. Like the 60 something Woman that wanted an explaination of why Clipless pedals were so good and how they worked.

2) That it was great to see some of the folks riding the streets of Rochester at 10:30 pm after the race to either get back home or too their waiting cars. It was just too cool!

3) Mayor Duffy is just one heck of a Guy, and he loves this event.

4) Where did my youth go? I think the only way I could ever maintain the speeds that these guys were doing would be downhill, WITH a tailwind! LOL!
