Hello, My name is red house.. and I am a recovering (and formerly habitual) schmoe.

One of my girl ''friend's'' works a weekend job where she is alone in a lab inside a building located in a remote area. Most weekends I like to offer to accompany her and help out when I can so that she does not need worry about psycho killers or junkies or someone like that confronting her inside this rather unsecure job site. She is not such a big person and unlike many here in foo does not carry a firearm or a personal protection device, so she appreciates very much this gesture.

This week I told her that I was going to ride my bike out to her job, (usually she gives me a lift) - to which she calmly informed me that; ''No.. you won't be doing that.'' I asked her 'why' - and she told me that she worried about me riding my bike long distances (about 15 miles) and that I was free to ride my bike wherever and whenever I like.. - so long as it was not to see her. This of course made me feel rather inadequate for riding a bike instead of owning a car, and made me vexed. She told me that instead she would come pick me up at my house, to which I replied that ''no, you won't be doing that.'' Now, this woman is well known for driving like a.. well, like a woman. She rarely trafficates, she is harsh with the brakes and she sometimes does crazy erratic sh** such as coming to a stop and then backing up at a rapid rate when she misses a turn - rather than just circling once around the block. If you are a responsible and laid back driver and it normally would take you say five minutes to get from a point a to a point b, - it will probably take her about 3 minutes to arrive at the same destination.

So, yeah.. she called me at my house expecting me to be there so she could drive me to her work - but by the time she got to my house I was already 2 miles from her work, enjoying an early morning ride in which I had seen three deer, a wild turkey a fox and a grisly car accident from an overpass on I-95, man that car was completely disintegraded and torn up into little tiny pieces for like 50 metres down the highway. :P . .but luckily the deer and the other fauna take my mind off of that.
So, it was nice 'winning' and after that we went to IHOP and she paid. Sometimes life is alright. :)

Dang. And I thought I was bad for getting on Mich for driving across the country alone.

Good that you stuck to what you wanted to do. Otherwise you would miss out on..........life. :)

You sound like a stalker. Don't you have better things to do than to escort poor helpless women?

Hey man.. this woman came to 'my' house last week - after not being able to reach me by phone for a day and a half.. and then got one of my roomates let her in and proceded let herself into my room, (which was a bit scattered at the time). . then she later on tells me that ''I need to clean up my room - and make sure that I'm clean too'' before she arrives to pick me up to bring to her work place the next morning. But as for me, I don't go breaking into her house and then tell her that she really needs to keep her house in order - cuz it's a pig sty, or something. I have broken into her house before.. but it wasn't for that, no.
