Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

ive been working on a cycling program over the last 3 weeks. its very much a beginers program to hopefully build myself a good base. this will be the 4th week and is mostly recovery, atleast the first 3 days are.
on sunday i will be starting a new multi-sport program that will include running and swimming on top of cycling. also a beginers program, but its a start. :)
im wondering if it would be ok to do some light swimming and running(maybe just walking would be better) while im on my cycling recovery, will doing other activities have any effect on my cycling recovery?
thanks for the input :)

I do triathlons and as such I swim, run, bike throughout the week. Swimming is an excellent recovery workout. Even if you are using it as part of a bigger program dont worry about it killing your muscles or anything. Swimming is very low impact so swim to your hearts content! For me I alternate days running and cycling. Maybe just do some light running. Dont go out for anything long. Just something to keep the legs doing something. Hope that helps
