If you do a search I believe you asked this previously...the components are low end but fully replaceable. The fork is the first thing I would ditch but the frame is strong. Great bike for the money.
www.konaworld.com on the right hand side there is a section for "2004 bikes now online"...that should give you the info you need. One warning it seemed to me this years out of bounds bikes shrunk. I think they have gone away from the all round tough ht to strictly a dirtjumping bike (my impressions I could be wrong). In 2004 maybe look at the Kona Hoss which seems more in line with 2002's stuff / roast for all round riding.

The Stuff and the Chute are the same frames. They are also the same frame that J. Cowen uses for jumping. They can handle some good abuse.
You should be very pleased with the Stuff. Some of the components could be upgraded but just wait until the OE one wear out.
Great bike. Strong and versitle(sp?) although I would not use it for any epic rides.

Dbd...they are a little different. The chainstay is reinforced on the chute/roast (these are the same frames). The stuff has no gussets on the chainstay :)...
