Searched the GL forums for any threads on this event and couldn't find any. I apologize in advance if there is one. Looking forward to doing this event in September. Have heard how much climbing there is, etc. Anyone done/doing this? I'd love to hear more about it...

Hey there John, yeah I've done it every year except last year since 1999. It's a great season ending ride for me and the people from the club that I belong to, it's very hilly and 2 day's of 100 miles each day is tough, but it's a great ride if you like climbing, which I do. I may be going again this year, but I'll have to get back with you on that later, I'm waiting to see if these two people from my club are going or not.

The columbus outdoor pursuits is the website to look up for info on it. I believe the site is outdoor-pursuits.org

Feel free to ask any other questions here you may have about it. I've heard each day is around 6 or 7 thousand feet of climbing, so it's pretty good, but it's a different type of climbing than they have out west. Out there it's 5 to 8 percent grades for miles on end, in this event it's 12-26 percent for very short time periods, max a couple of minutes of climbing..
