Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Saw this over in the mountain bike forum and my heart just sank. I know he had friends over here as well.

It always gets to me when someone young dies. So much life to live - so many things to experience. So much potential wasted.

Siu just called me and told me. It didn't even sink in till the car ride home. I really don't know what to say honestly, I just have a bad feeling in my chest. I'm sorry Rev this happened to you, I'm sad we'll never be graced on this forum by your postings again.
God be with you till we meet again.

I'm speechless- what a tragedy. :( Maybe we should do a personal silent ride in the next week or so, dedicated to Al? Just a thought...
I love that idea. I was thinking of going for a ride tomorrow in his memory.

This is terrible. He was talented musically. He had emailed me about some keyboard input. He had a lot of plans for the future.:(

I just saw this. :( I'm kind of in denial that such a BF fixture is gone. He was such a quick wit, such a contributor to the culture of BF.
I raise my glass to you, rev.monkey; we will miss you.
A life cut far far too short. He will be missed by many, and remembered by all those who knew him here and everywhere. It's always a tragedy when a young life is lost regardless of the cause, but for an accident like this to cause his death is just unthinkable. Such a senseless loss.
I'm still in shock - on his 18th birthday with such a huge open book and a giant pen with nothing but empty pages to continue writing a fantastic story to be closed so quickly. I hope he's fulfilling many of those dreams now.
Oh my god. It just seemed as though my heart just stopped. This is so shocking. I remember sharing a couple comments with him. Wow, this brings me to tears. Oh jeez...:( :( :( I'll keep Al in my thoughts and prayers. RIP buddy. I want to go on a ride in his memory.

roughrider504, is it possible that you can post what you're using as the spoke card? I would love to put it in my rear wheel in memory of Al.
