I am going to try to keep track of the sponsors of the tour on OLN and personally write them and thank them for the effort. I hope others take the time to support the sponsors who support our sport as well.

I love watching the race and OLN is doing a great job. Their web site has a feedback section, please take the time to thank them.

I don't like that OLN is so exclusive- why doesn't it come with the normal cable package?

I don't get OLN because it doesn't come with the normal cable packages. And before last year, they weren't even offering it on digital cable- you could only get it on satellite. :crash:

Grrrrrrr... I'm not sending them anything but a letter of complaint cause I'm missing the Tour for yet another year. :irritated

Might want to direct those complaints to your cable company. This past year, Time Warner in Kansas City moved OLN from digital to normal cable.

Yeah, Koffee, that's your local cable company's call. And sometimes the same company calls it more than one way: Comcast provides OLN as part of the basic analog package where I live, but the same company offers it only as part of the digital package in other suburban Philadelphia markets.

Two years ago they offered it everywhere but in my area; we bombarded them with phone calls right before the TdF started and, incredibly, they fed the OLN Tour coverage to a local access channel, just for us. No extra charge.

I have Comcast now- formerly AT&T. They said it's not part of my package, so I can't get it.

My building has a package deal with Comcast, so everything is fixed, and there's not a lot I can do, unless I give up all my movie channels. For that, they'll make me pay extra for OLN. The trade off is just not worth it for one month of the Tour. :(

I'm figuring if I will have to go thorough this eventually to get OLN, I will probably look towards getting satellite tv next year with all the channels. Then I'll be able to sit down and post just like all the rest of you!

Until then, I live vicariously through all of you with the OLN.

<sigh> Or maybe I'll just move to Europe.

yeah i was thinking writing the sponsors would be a good idea also. connondale had an add on today, with simoni. pretty cool :).
just footage of simoni riding, mostly giro stuff i think, and some comments in italian. i mostly liked the fact that they advertised at all, and that a big time cyclist, who isnt on poastal got some U.S. air time.
not meant as a crack against poastal, i just think its good for the sport when other riders get seen too :)

I posted a thanks to OLN on their website.
Koffee, I have comcast (digital) and OLN is included
in the basic package, maybe you just have to move
to Texas and not Europe.
I loved the C'dale commercial, even if it was all in Italian.

Dood, if I have to move to Texas, then I'm DEFINITELY going to move to Europe!

Thanks for the invite, but I think I'll just get the satellite cable by next year.

Koffee,

Have you actually tried the channel that OLN is on and that Comcast says you don't get? I have Comcast and, according to the Comcast website, I'm supposed to have the Golf channel but not OLN. However, it appears that I have both.

How many here suffered through ESPNs horrible 30 minute nightly recaps in the early 90s?

Or worse, ABC's weekend 2 hour summary. Lots of pretty sun flower fields.

ABC's weekend 2 hour summary and ESPN's 30 min recap would be a lot more than what I'm getting right now! As it stands, since OLN took over televising it, it's like all the news stations think it's not worth it to televise at all, it seems. :(

I checked the channel already. We don't get OLN at all... :(

Oy!

Who remembers Adrian Karstens, not so many years ago? Every time that Gum woman begins to annoy me, I remember old Adrian.

Koffee, You have to get a satellite dish! You will never go back to cable. Lots of channels and cheaper too. OLN and lots more:D
