Comparable to what I see on Ebay, what model are you looking at?

In the text for the Jack on PB:
"Schwalbe Big Apple tires with built-in suspension for everyday riding"
when actually
"Fork: Oversized, straight, integrated design"
That's a little misleading given the target market for the Jack.

Well, I really want a Cadenza but I don't think they carry it. I could settle with the Jack, but reading MaunaKea's post, it sounds like the Jack isn't a good alternative to the Cadenza.
They also have a belt drive w/ 3 speed hub there that looks interesting.

Good price on the Boardwalk. $180-10%=$162+$11 shipping. Wait for a decent sale and you should get a really good deal.
Nice to see a bigger store like Performance Bike selling folders.

Check out the prices at www.brandcycle.com. I got my Speed d7 there for $290 and that included next day delivery and tax (elsewhere was about $350).

I don't see it at that price anymore. When did you get it? :o

I bought a Dahon MuP8 about 2 months ago and my vote for price PLUS informed, interested, committed staff goes to sunrisecyclery.com (http://sunrisecyclery.com) . I live on Long Island and visited Brands where staff was 'I don't know and don't much care' and Sunrise where staff set up several bikes for me to try, had working knowledge of the differences between models, ;) and had a better selection than Brands. Priced the same. Just my experience. ;)

Good to know foldHer! Thanks. I am interested in a dahon (or two). I am going to Montauk from NYC with the mrs in a few weeks and was going to stop by Brands, but see that this Sunrisecyclery is just down the block, so will hit both, or this just one based on your feedback. thx.

Be careful. Sunrise has two different locations. Better call to make sure the location you're visiting has the stuff you want. Also, I'm not sure how you're traveling, but don't expect to walk between Brands in Wantagh and Sunrise in Massapequa. They're two towns, 3 miles, apart.
BTW, I can confirm that the staff at the Brands store doesn't know much and doesn't care much.

My experience in buying my 2006 Cadenza from Sunrise was excellent, in addition to having the lowest price, shipping included.
@DVC45, I didn't mean to talk you out of a Jack, my point was the misleading statements. Big Apple tires are a great hybrid of bump tolerance and rolling resistance. The Jack is the closest to the old Cadenza... same frame in fact. The new Cadenza I consider a semi-folder, since you must use a tool to lock the hinges in place. The larger Dahon folders use standard parts, a real plus.

Thanks makeinu. All noted. I will call them to be sure I go to the correct store.
I understand that they have two stores, and I am pretty sure it's the store in Massapequa Park, not the West Babylon warehouse/triathelete store, that is the "showroom" (general store) with the Dahon folders....but I'll call first.

Thanks for clarifying MaunaKea. I want the new Cadenza, though. I think I'll just wait 'til they offer it.

Glad I called...I surmised wrong. It's the west babylon store of Sunrise Cyclery that would have the Dahon's for sale.
Looks like all Dahons at PB are now out of stock. :(
